Got Bartled

According to the Bartle test there are four main types of MMO gamers.

Good summary.

I've known about it for awhile but only decided to take the test recently - ironically only because Bhagpuss just posted his less that positive view on it. Still, I enjoy silly things like this - though I do wonder what category gold farmer robots would fall under. Is there a fifth hidden type, "the enemy of man" or something?

Close enough, it even comes with some feel good text.

"Explorer Socializers are the glue of the online world. Not only do they like to delve in to find all the cool stuff, but they also enjoy sharing that knowledge with others. Explorer socializers power the wikis, maps, forums and theory craft sites of the gamer world."

While it's probably just as trivial as the "which DBZ character are you!?" test I think it would be interesting to see what everyone else (at least those that comment here) got too, if you're willing to share? :)

  1. I always thought those tests were kind of silly too but still fun to do just for the curiosity of it.

My results are strangely too balanced about 67% Explorer, 60% Socializer, 60% achiever and only 13% Killler. I guess that is about right considering my motivations to play MMOs.

I guess that makes me some weird chimera of Explorer-Achiever-Socializer? *scratches head*

    1. Guess you want the most out of all games (minus player killing) Rakuno! :)

  2. I started the test, did a few of the questions and lost the will to live. Well the will to finish the test anyway.

My true answer to the few "Do you care more about X or Y?" questions I looked at is that I don't care about either of them!

    1. I had a few like that too, just chose the one more suited to me. In my case one was always more waaay off than the other so it was easier to push through.

  3. My results were 67% Explorer, 60% Killer, 47% Socializer, 27% Achiever.
Explorer Killers enjoy seeing the world, meeting interesting people...and killing them. EKs love all discovery, but finding an edge over the competition is best. Always seeking new opportunity, an EK likely knows the ten best places to find certain types of opponents, as well as ten different ways for taking them down.

I belive the the result would be different if they at the end offered me to join an order of knights, instead of making me choose between scholars and assasains.
All in all, I think it quite accurately describes my habits, and the trait descriptions are great.

    2. Hey, you're not meant to copy Astalnar. :P I guess that makes two people that I should try hide from while "exploring"? (jk) ^_^

  4. Yet apparently all those different women can't manage to find proper protective armor. >.< But anyway...

I have a feeling I'll test high for all of those but killer.

"Explorer Killers enjoy seeing the world, meeting interesting people... and killing them." Lol Astalnar. :P

    1. Well, the socializer doesn't need armor - the achiever probably was going for the biggest bust category, the explorer would be weighed down by it and the killer ... um... uses her features as a distraction? :D

  5. "Explorer socializers power the wikis, maps, forums and theory craft sites of the gamer world"

Funny that, Wiki's weren't exactly in use when the test was made. You may have done the bartle test, but the conclusion was written by someone else.

    1. Yeah I don't power any wikis. Though my maps are used on some and I'm very noisy on forums that let me on them. Did you get the same result Lani? :)
