Avoid dragons, draw out the infantry.
As this event is on again I thought I'd put a quick post down for those who don't yet know the best method to farm those stronghold vouchers that drop from all enemies on this map. You will need a quiet, low-pop channel and as much free time as you can throw at it for best results.
Killing everything is a good start, but the respawn rate is kinda slow for the usual spawns which is why you want to look out for the non-dragon heroic encounters that pop up. All of these spawn a flood of infantry farm targets, and will keep doing so until the event is finished. That's right, the idea is to never kill any of the end generals or destroy the catapults. Ideally for the catapults, damage each of them without breaking any. If you do it right the spawning guards will chase you across the back end of the map making your farming even easier.
Also, if you are only after vouchers, avoid the dragon encounters as they eat up a lot of time and have no adds that drop them. Most importantly, don't get angry at people that finish the events you are trying to farm. They've been trained the whole game to do so, and have a daily that requires them to finish 2 of them. Regardless of what they are doing, just kill the infantry and if your channel gets too crowded, or has double dragons, its time to move on to the next quiet instance. :)

Meanwhile in Neverwinter Online
The Siege of Neverwinter is back on, which is arguably the best for Stronghold progression! You can also get the purple level Siege breaker Griffon if you missed it last time, or just hang onto the currencies for future rewards when it next comes back. It seems to be one of the more frequent events.
Our guild is currently the lowest ranked now of the Greycloak Alliance, which is expected given our active player numbers. Still, with their help we are now at Guild Hall level 10 which is great - halfway there! Well, not quite but I like to dream. :)

NWO: Siege Gains and Losses
The current Siege of Neverwinter event is fantastic for those who are in a guild. After doing the daily "Send aid to Neverwinter" task of recruiting guards, any and all foes in the event area have a chance of dropping blue vouchers for your stronghold. And I mean, a lot of them! This is made even better by the whole zone being levelled to 60, which means level 70 characters just steamroll the whole thing.
You might get discouraged by the "Send aid to Neverwinter" quest bugging sometimes, but the fix is really simple. There are two versions of it (that I know of), one with the quest circle towards the back of the stronghold (which is broken) and one with the circle nearer the front. Simply drop the quest repeatedly until you get the working version. :)
Also my "update within 3 weeks or you are removed" method comes back into play today, so my blog list will look a little neater with this post. Among those blogs "lost" today are:
Lyle's Grind, Sisters of Tyria, T.R Red Skies, The Sisterhood of Kia, Wandering through Digital Worlds, The Jazz Panda, Elfi's World, Diary of a Gnome Spy, BattlepetRoundup, Manalicious, The stuffed Yammob, The Iron Dagger, Aspect of the Hare, Megadirge, The Adventures of Xinrae, Mostly Plushies, Tough Love Critic, Unnexussary, Imperial Intelligence, Screaming Monkeys, The Fanatical Swordsman, Thalen Speaks, Grimnir's Grudge, Cogitationes Astalnaris, Adamantly Complacent, Ald Shot First, and Floor Tank Gaming.
One hours worth of vouchers!

Neverwinter: Not so Hidden Communities
While the Siege of Neverwinter takes center stage in Neverwinter Online at the moment, with the armies of the Cult of the Dragon attacking the exterior walls of the city I thought I would talk about something else in the Cryptic's online D&D game, namely two not-so-hidden groups that might make life better for players.
First up is the Scribe's Enclave, whom readers of this site might have heard about before. If player generated content and building quests in the Foundry is something you enjoy then please give their guildlaunch site a look (setting up a guildlaunch account is free and straight forward). Not only do they play through your quests but they also give a lot of advice and ideas on how to make your missions the best they can be. Everything from accuracy of lore to decor techniques to technical mechanics and tricks in the foundry editor. They are actually going through some tough times at the moment with scribe leader Zeirlynn going through some burnout, so new blood would be more than welcome.
The second "community" exists as a channel in the game which, if you've wandered the forums or played for a length of time you may have encountered before: the NW_Legit_Community. I knew about them for months but never bothered to investigate further, until I decided that I wanted to run some of the harder epic dungeons. Then I hit the problem in the regular Zone chat PUGs of not meeting their (often higher than needed) gear score requirement, previous dungeon or boss mechanic experience, and/or not having the right class they are looking for. Not so with the NW_Legit_Community. They take anyone who can handle themselves and run various dungeons everyday. One time they were even just rolling dice to determine which epic mission to attempt, one after the other. I strongly recommend signing up to their channel if this sort of thing interests you. At the very least it does open another point of contact for general questions and the like with less trolling than the global zone chat.
To open communications with them just type the following line in-game:
/channel_join NW_Legit_Community
