Two first season series with swinging cod.

Obliterated

After disarming a nuke, the special team led by Chad (Nick Zano) and Ava (Shelley Hennig) decide to party very hard to celebrate only to realize in the messy-after hours that they're still on the clock and have to do the job while tripping balls. My wife accurately described this R-rated action comedy series as being like Legends of Tomorrow but without the sci-fi theme and with a ton more full frontal nudity. There are middling action sequences peppered in the laughs but if you don't like the concept where a team of "professionals" consistently goof up (and if they didn't the thing would be over sooner) then this is probably not the series for you.

Blue Eye Samurai

During the Edo period in Japan where they closed their borders to foreigners and were even more xenophobic than usual, the bastard children sired by said foreigners are treated like trash and one such child is the protagonist of this very well animated revenge killing spree, though there are a fair few gaps between the killing parts during which again, there's a fair bit of adult content just in case the visceral combat sequences weren't enough. While the plot is decent I do find it funny how most of the good guys are a bit over powered. Guy without eyes can basically see, guy without hands can do whatever etc. Still, we really enjoyed this one and are looking forward to a season two.

Jack Ryan, (Jack) Reacher and Blindspot

Special investigators always gets their terrorists!

Jack Ryan

In this action thriller Tom Clancy's most popular character (this time played by John Krasinki) starts out as a CIA desk jockey who gets roped into exciting field work against a variety of threats. Very cool characters and good stories, though some side plots seem to just go nowhere? Still recommended. As of this post there are two seasons, with more to come!

Reacher

While traveling through a small town Ex-MP Jack Reacher (played by the towering Alan Ritchson) is arrested for a crime he didn't commit, and ends up in the middle of a conspiracy which he is happy to help take down... violently. Great story backed up with brutal action gets the thumbs up from me! Hope the second season is as solid as the first!

Blindspot

That must have taken hours in the make up department!

When the FBI take an amnesiac woman (Jaimie Alexander) into custody, they end up forming a special task force to "solve" all the crime related tattoos on her body which is both convenient and ridiculous. The five season show has a middling plot which includes silly episodes that are dreams and comedy ones as well as hilarious reasoning to some solves with "I know this hacker's code anywhere," being my favorite. Protip: Copy paste exists. Anyway, if you do watch it, the characters end up being why you'll stick around. Not as recommended as the two above but it's alright.

BDO: The Second Questing

Repeating the quests on my corsair has been a lot faster than the first time around because it turns out "knowledge", which is often required to be gained to complete a quest objective, is shared across your family (characters on the same account). Furthermore, this extends to the knowledge you gain by fight enemy types which make them progressively easier to combat. It's also interesting that there seem to either be new quests or quests I missed previously this time around, like this reliable source that Illezra isn't quite dead yet. Apparently she's fled into the new dungeon: Atoraxxion.

Anyway, my goal of getting her to level 61 (on par with my main) is now achieved. This is good, because she's currently stuck in both the O'Dyllita I (shadow wolves are annoying) and Dreighan main quest lines (which in turn blocks Star's End). All her big movements and super-armor moves don't help too much against Garmoth it seems. I'm also getting the inkling that the main game here isn't actually fighting monsters, but upgrading armor and weapons.

Apparently GM's here are winged plague doctors!

Insight: After your first time through, Valencia II and and the Chenga Tome quests are a breeze. Also, if you combo Mareca: Whale Song into Prime: Wipe Out there's a clothing glitch where the corsair decides to get naked, especially in areas of high particle effects. Even more noticeable if you are over burdened which makes everything you do move in slow motion.

Critical hit indeed!

Wanted: Killerman

Two stupid movies but only one is entertaining.

Wanted

Gives physics the middle finger.

Wesley (James McAvoy) is a nobody who keeps getting pushed around until he is recruited by a group of assassins who reveal he actually has crazy physics defying firearm abilities.

Angelina Jolie as eye candy always gets a thumbs up!

Becoming amazing at killing people is how he takes back control of his life, but its the process that is most entertaining - even though the ballistics are quite laughable. That's part of the fun! If you are looking for a not too serious action flick, this might be for you. I give it two and a half bullet bends out of five and yeah, I'd watch it again.

Killerman

They really wanted to keep that title.

Moe (Liam Hemsworth) is good at laundering money, but not so good at keeping his friends from making stupid, dangerous and life altering decisions which puts him in everyone's cross hairs. For an action crime movie, there's not a lot of action and a pretty low body count. It does have loads of "traversal" filler padding though of Moe goes here. Then here. Drives here. All with no dialogue meaning all of it could have been cut from the film.

My biggest problem with this is that for the majority of the film, I didn't really care about any of the characters. Drug dealers and assholes who enable them by laundering their cash are the "heroes"? They can all die in a fire like the worthless pieces of shit they are as far as I'm concerned. Worthless movie and a waste of time. One dirty cop out of five.

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

Arnie is back from the future to once again save John Connor from a Skynet time travelling killer in the form of Kristanna Loken. Let's just ignore the huge plot holes of time travel (I'm sure you can think up of a few) and focus on the rest of the movie. Acting wise Claire Danes is great and everyone else is ok. Arnie does well as a machine and his humor works half the time which isn't bad. This incarnation of John Connor is passable too especially if you haven't seen any of the other Terminator movies for awhile.

Kristanna Loken doesn't really get a lot of lines and doesn't give off the threatening vibe but hey, as an assassin that might actually make sense. Convenient that the cops chose to ignore chasing her too, despite her killing one (I assume she did, or he got super lucky?) a few minutes after her arrival. My two favorite scenes are where we get to see the original, dinky looking terminators and a chase scene that involves a ton of property damage.

Ok, make that three favorite scenes. :P

All up it's a pretty fun action movie as long as you don't poke holes into the plot's thin fabric of space time. I give it three bullets out of five.

Blaugust Bonus: Hmm, since I'm running into writer's block I think I'll pick up one of Belghast's suggested topics today - If you were an NPC in a video game, what type of NPC would you be? I would be a rare, wandering boss type monster that is incredibly difficult to defeat. Possibly harder than the instanced bosses available. Warframe's "Stalker" opponent would be a pretty good example. He hunts down players who have recently killed a boss, can show up on any mission you do, will be 15 levels higher than the mission ranking and has a ton of cheap tricks (a mix of powers from different warframes) that can wipe out a team pretty easily. Also, you can never actually kill him.

Hurt him enough and he will vanish. The same if he defeats all the players once (ticking them off his list). Best of all is his intro. Since he's also a space ninja the only warning you get is flickering lights on the HUD and a change of music. If this happens in quick succession then you'd better pull your team together into a defensive position. Basically he is the Terminator of space! That "oh shit" moment is awesome, and one I'd like "NPC me" to emulate
