[Added to my MMO Design folder.]
Short post this time. I've just got three questions for you all.
1) In MMOs, what non-combat related activity excites you most and why?
2) In non-MMOs, what non-combat related activity excites you most and why?
3) In real life, what non-combat related activity excites you most and why?
Thanks for replying! :)
1) housing. Daoc had the right idea with guild housing. Always had company.
ReplyDelete2) exploring. Levek/world designers put a lot of fun things in fun places but you have to look!
3) being active - between sports and gym I do 6 days a week.
1)Social activities that scale from solo to group
ReplyDelete2)Crafting and Housing
3)social activity that includes working out or going to dog park or going to a bar
1. Probably collecting.
ReplyDelete2. I don't play non-MMOs.
3. I love the way you imply that I may have "combat-related" activities in real life with which to make the contrast! Apart from that, the question is too broad to answer meaningfully. If I had to pick one out of the myriad possibilities I guess I'd say travel.
1. Questing, or rather, the story behind the questing. (Yeah, I like SWTOR. Does it show?)
ReplyDelete2. Building. I play Civ style games a lot (Civ IV is probably my favorite of the genre), so the building/ruling an empire is nice.
3. Napping, because that means that work around the house and/or schlepping kids around is done for the day. (Yeah, I'm a wuss.) But outside of that, I'd have to say it's a toss-up between reading, pencil-and-paper RPGs, board games, listening to music/concerts.
